Additional Foreign Secretary Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan has been appointed as the new Spokesperson Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Islamabad – Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan Born in June 1969. He Joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1993. He done his  Master’s Degree in Defence and Strategic Studies (Quaid-i-Azam University); Master’s Degree in Intelligence and International Security (Kings College London); Diploma in conflict studies (Uppsala University Sweden).

Before joining the Foreign Service worked as Lecturer in Strategic Studies at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad (1991-1993); also worked as Guest Researcher at Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (1994).

He Served at the Foreign Ministry as Section Officer (UN) (February to October 1995); Acting Director (Disarmament) (1996-1998); Deputy Director (India) (2001-2002); Deputy Director (Foreign Secretary’s Office) (2002-2003). Director (Human Rights) (2006-2007); Diplomatic Advisor to Speaker National Assembly (2014-2015); Director General (Europe) (2016-2017). He served various diplomatic assignments in Pakistan Missions abroad. He was Pakistan Permanent Mission in New York (1998-2001), Beijing (2007-2010) and Pakistan Permanent Mission in Geneva (2010-2013). He Served as Ambassador of Pakistan to the Republic of Poland with concurrent accreditation to Estonia and Latvia (July 2017-March 2020).

He also Served as Ambassador of Pakistan to the Russian Federation (March 2020-September 2023).
